After a business failure in 2007, I then worked at the branch office of a company owned by a large Jewish family in the United States. Assume full responsibility for updating the entire Hong Kong branch office system

After joining the company, my first task was to design a system-wide update in the Hong Kong office and find suppliers to help me do this task. With this system update, it affected the work habits of other employees, especially employees who have worked in the company for decades. So at first, my presence was not liked by other employees.

Almost displaced by several heads of other departments

By updating the Hong Kong office system, it means that the work of employees will be more transparent and management at the head office will be clearer about what they are doing. So at that time, several department heads tried to displace me.

I am trusted by the Hong Kong office leadership and have a good relationship with most of my Hong Kong colleagues because they see me trying to help them through the transition between the old and new systems. Their jobs have also become easier with this new system. After 2 years of working there, the co-workers who once tried to displace me one after another left this company, so began the peaceful times for the next few years.

Working dozens of hours per day and time off must also remain at work

Working in this company is different from previous companies that had a large team to share tasks. Although I later rose to become the head of the department, most of my work still had to be done by me.

This causes when I come home from work and still have to work at home, sometimes until dawn. When on leave and on vacation abroad, you also have to bring a laptop to do tasks when you return to your hotel room.

In addition, while working at this company, I also still have to update my Information Technology certificates by taking various exams. Sometimes I also have to stay to study.

Starting the dark days after experiencing 4 years of peaceful atmosphere in the office

After a peaceful period in the office for 4 years, the head of the Information Technology section of the headquarters in the United States had a fatal traffic accident that forced him to retire early. He is a good colleague, and we always communicate well for every project we run.

A consultant who usually helps with an Information Technology project in the United States takes the place of a colleague who was in an accident. Not long after he took the position, he had the support of the brother-in-law of one of the company's owners, and they began to profit from seizing all the projects in the Hong Kong office at unreasonable requests. I began to oppose him because with the proposal he would make the system and communication between the Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and United States offices unstable.

The management of the Hong Kong office is also aware of some senior employees trying to make a profit from the projects but we can't do anything because the brother-in-law of the company owner supports them. We also know that Jews attach great importance to family, even though they know about games, they usually pretend not to know about them.

5 years after I left this company, the sister-in-law of one of the company owners and the head of the Information Technology section was finally fired because they spent too much of the company's budget. Perhaps the company owners could no longer stand their greed, so they took the policy.

Decided to resign from the company after working for 10 years

The company continued to suffer losses; most of the reason was that some senior employees who were the third generation of the company's founders used the company's funds very unwisely. The requests from the Information Technology department of the head office were also getting more and more unreasonable and caused us to often fight during remote conferences. Therefore, I decided to resign from this company in 2016. At that time, there was a company that had been working with us for almost 10 years, and the owner of the company had also become a good friend of mine, and he offered to join his company.
