My mother had 6 siblings and all of them were still living in Indonesia at that time, and my mother was in third place. My mother's brother who came to visit us when I was in elementary school in Hong Kong were only aunt number 2, uncle number 5, and aunt number 6. They stayed at our house for about 2 weeks when they were in Hong Kong.

First visited by my mother's brother from Indonesia

When I was about 5 years old, aunt number 6 and uncle number 5 came to visit Hong Kong and stayed at our house. It was a great joy because it was the first time a brother from Indonesia came to Hong Kong to visit and stay at our house. Our house has 2 rooms, and my room has a bunk bed, and I usually sleep downstairs. At that time, I moved upstairs, my aunt stayed downstairs, and my uncle slept in the living room.

On weekdays, my mother would take them for a walk and eat in the area around Yuen Long because at that time my mother was still picking me up from school and my father also had to work. When I got home from school, I liked to take out my toys and take my aunt to play with me and take my uncle down to the soccer field to play badminton or soccer.

On Saturday and Sunday, my father and mother were only able to take them around Hong Kong's tourist attractions. The thing I remember most is when I visited the Central area on a Sunday and my uncle, who was handsome, tanned, and very confident, was in the spotlight and often talked to Filipinos who were on vacation there.

Unable to sleep the day before my aunt and uncle returned to Indonesia

3 days before my aunt and uncle returned to Indonesia, my heart began to feel heavy and wanted the day not to pass too quickly. The night before they went back to Indonesia, I couldn't sleep and when I left for school I saw the face of my aunt who was still sleeping for a long time because I knew that when they left for school they had already left for the airport to return to Indonesia.

Aunt number 2 visited us and stayed for almost 2 months

When I was about 7 years old, aunt number 2 came to visit us and stayed at home for almost 2 months. Since my aunt lived in Hong Kong for quite a long time, she often accompanied me to do activities such as going to the library, which at that time was still located in the Yuen Long Government Offices, accompanying me to the playground, and so on. Of course, when my aunt returned to Indonesia, my heart was very heavy because she had accompanied me to various activities for almost 2 months.

Aunt and uncle's favorite food is Red Bean Ice at Café De Coral restaurant

One of my aunt and uncle's favorite Hong Kong foods from Indonesia is the Red Bean Ice drink 紅豆冰 (hung4 two2 bing1), which is red bean ice at the Café De Coral restaurant. At that time, the food served by Café De Coral was a local Hong Kong speciality such as Cha Chaan Teng 茶餐廳 (cha4 chaan1 teng1). When talking about Hong Kong with them, one of the topics is definitely Red Bean Ice. Until now, almost all my Indonesian friends who have visited Hong Kong like this drink.
